Tactical boots are specially designed for intense activity and/or harsher environments, often sporting an array of features that are not necessary to the design of average boots or shoes. Usually made from tough, durable material such as leather, nubuck or suede. Extensively waterproofed with protective elements such as steel toecaps, thick rubber soles and reinforced collars with a supportive midsole.
Often very breathable, with better models maintaining a light, airy feel even through all the added layers of protection.
Tactical boots are also highly flexible, and designed to allow maximum movement during strenuous activity. Tactical boots are quieter too, in terms of squeaking. Tactical boots provide added protection with steel or plastic toecaps to prevent broken toes in the event of heavy objects being dropped on the feet, while the strong materials, tougher tongues and reinforced collars protect the feet and lower legs from sharp objects and other dangers the wearer may encounter.

Footwear for multi-terrain activity, perfect for light hunting activity. Super lightweight, breathable and dynamic support in the shoe upper and sole, the former bearing ribs that are pre-treated in PU, which eliminates stitching. The sole tread has been developed with exclusive AKU Elica Natural Stride System technology to optimize its biodynamic efficiency. The treads are Vibram® Selvatica Megagrip with an optimized surface in contact with the ground for better all-around traction. OrthoLite® anti-microbe and breathable insoles, with optimum shock absorption.

Altbergs legendary Sneeker® Microlite is possibly the most lightweight, all leather military boot ever made. The requirement was for a leather boot that was shock absorbing, lightweight with minimal moisture absorption, as on many tasks it was inevitable that they would get wet inside, so minimal weight gain when wet and fast drying were key requirements. The Sneeker® Microlite has a high unlined leg and after more than 20 years it is still the first choice of many soldiers for selection and training and everyday use.
Hybrid jungle style running/tabbing boot. Fast draining, quick drying, lightweight & shock absorbing. The combination of the Jungle boot upper with the Tabbing boot sole makes the Jungle Microlite suitable for a wider range of operational uses. The Jungle boot drain eyelets are retained to make the boot faster draining and drying. Under the foot the new mesh covered Airgrid footbed further enhances the boot draining and drying. The upper is Anfibio water repellent leather with Cordura® fabric panels in the leg and tongue, this is a tried and tested combination used by Altberg for over 20 years. The forefoot and tongue lining is spacer mesh which has zero moisture retention. The leg is unlined, and the heel is lined with Cambrelle® for all day comfort. The boot has a good shock absorption Micro layer in the sole and the flex control and torsional resistance are excellent.
Altberg Tabbing Tactical Elite Boot
Lightweight military tabbing boot based on running shoe technology. Developed in 2008 as a running/high-activity version of the legendary Altberg Sneeker Microlite. The foot shape (last) is AForme, which uses running shoe dynamics and technology. The leg height and shape enhance mobility when running. Underneath the foot, the shock absorption and torsional resistance give good security and foot comfort on footpaths as well as rough terrain. This tactical boot is ideal for high-activity military use.
